If your social media feed is anything like ours, coffee stations and appliance garages have really taken over. This type of cabinet is used to hide daily use appliances – coffee machines, toasters, microwaves – behind cabinet doors while keeping them easily accessible.

But why has there been such an explosion in popularity for these coffee stations?

It is no secret that most of us live busy lives and seek out products built for convenience, but we also want to live in a home that is easy to maintain. And that is where appliance garages and coffee stations come into play. They are the perfect combination of function and aesthetic – something that looks great but makes your day run just a bit smoother.

Let’s take a closer look at why these coffee station cabinets are such a game changer.

Convenience

One of the biggest draws to including a coffee station or appliance garage cabinet is everyday convenience. Such a cabinet offers easily accessible space for those routinely used appliances. Most often, we see the lower half of the cabinet open for a coffee machine along with an assortment of mugs and coffee pods and the upper half designed with one or two slightly recessed shelves perfect for a toaster, a microwave, even more mugs, or even some décor pieces.

This interior cabinet layout makes it so that you can easily operate your desired appliance without any hassle. The recessed upper shelves allow you to have a bit more space to be inside the cabinet so that you aren’t so limited on room when using that appliance. This layout also makes it easy to keep related items nearby (think coffee pods near the coffee machine or bread near the toaster) so that everything you need is right where you need it.

We also prefer to design a coffee cabinet with a set of pocket doors. Pocket doors are a type of door that opens and pushes back into a space left on each side of the cabinet. This means that those large cabinet doors won’t stay open and in the way while you warm up your food or boil your tea kettle. And, since the doors push back into the cabinetry, your walkway stays clear and obstacle free – which means you can leave your coffee brewing while you sit down and scroll your socials.

Aesthetic

Equally as important as convenience is aesthetics. Does a coffee station improve the overall look of your space?

Absolutely.

An appliance garage or coffee station really has two purposes: to make your life easier and to make your home look the best it can as much as possible. Delegating a space to tuck away your unsightly appliances without having to stuff them into a cramped cabinet or keep them on the countertop can make a world of difference. Instead, since a coffee station cabinet tends to be a bit roomier, you have all the space of a regular countertop available to use without having to store that clunky toaster on permanent display. This means your beautiful kitchen with its perfectly selected finishes and accessories can be free from the eyesore that countertop appliances can become.

No more cluttered countertops full of unattractive gadgets! Instead an organized, clean, and relaxing kitchen space…talk about a dream come true.

Best of Both Worlds

The rise in popularity for coffee stations and larger appliance garages is obvious once you really think about it. They are one of those little luxuries that make our day-to-day lives just a little easier by blending convenience and aesthetic seamlessly. And who wouldn’t want to make their daily routines a little less complicated and a whole lot more stylish?
